I’ve always enjoyed spending time on the river, watching the Pig-tailed Macaques. The young ones are almost ALWAYS play-fighting with each other. Sometimes, it can get a little rough with the shoving and pushing. However, there are rare moments when they do take a break. The youngest of the group seen here, seems to love snuggling up to his playmates. This tender moment only lasted for a few seconds before they were back to their swinging and tail-pulling antics again.

Both Pig-tailed Macaque youngsters were play-fighting on the trees and didn’t notice I was watching them for a long time from the river. Then the magical moment – when one of them noticed that my big lens has been watching them, the other peep over his playmate’s shoulder. The keen curiosity of these adorable macaque juveniles was captured. A 32″ x 24″ black-framed print of this photo was auctioned at ACRES 15th Anniversary in 2016, and raised $1,300 SGD for the animal rescue organisation .
