The V-shaped flight formation reduces the drag force that each bird experiences compared to if it were flying alone. The bird in the lead position has to work the hardest. This sequence was shot with Nikon D4S & 500mm + 1.4x TC on a continuous high burst mode, capturing action shots of the eagle within a split second. The images were later pieced together in Photoshop into one sequence shot. This allows the viewers to appreciate the flight details of an eagle’s taking off, which can’t be recorded with the human eyes and brain.
