One of the world’s most magnificent bird of prey, the Steller’s Sea-Eagle is the largest of all sea-eagles, and the heaviest known eagle. Its wingspan is approximately 220-245cm! During the harsh winter in Siberia, Russia, they fly south to overwinter in Hokkaido, Japan where they find food, mainly fish.

I love how the beak of the Blue-eared Kingfisher is pointing in the general direction of how the twig bends, creating a nice leading line. On large exhibition print, one can clearly see the spider web on the twig. It’s breathtakingly delicate and beautiful to see the complex structure and the details of each strand of the silky web.

A family with their weeks-old chick perched on top of a rock during high tide. The parents usually take turn to find food for the chick. Occasionally, the chick gets swapped off their feet into the sea by the strong waves, but it is capable of swimming back and climb back to the same rock and wait for its parents.
