Is it a friend or foe?
A stare-down between the Smooth-coated otter and the Water Monitor Lizard in Singapore. The staring contest lasted for about a minute or so as they get closer and closer to each other. Eventually, the monitor lizard crawled into the dense vegetation to avoid the group of otters nearby.
There was a interesting record of a smooth-coated otter was seen attacking and killing a water monitor lizard in a small pond at the Forestry Research Institute, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. source
